Pa Black bear hunt

Looking to go on a Black bear hunt in pa but do not know where to start. I never hunted bear, and was looking for some insite to what I need to do to. areas to hunt, should I seek an outfitter and anything else I can't think of right now. Oh before I forget I want to harvest with my bow. any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance.

You should go waaaaaayyyyyyyyyy back in where the game wardens would never find you, and just in case they do , have plenty of bail money on hand.......

To go on a PA spring bear hunt, all you need is a box of donuts and a BIG light.

There are a few options for black bear in Pa. Personally, I hunt Lycoming county every year. We have had a camp there for about 100 years and Lycoming harvested more bear than any other county last year. You could also look into pike county. The had 2 of the largest bear taken last year (roughly 800 lbs each). Either way it's going to be pretty tough with a bow because baiting is illegal in our state. Take into consideration the fact that only 10% of all bear hunters are successfull, and that's with rifle.
