Fist part of September or Last?

I am Planning a trip to Colorado next year to Bowhunt Elk, I am going to the Northeast of Alamosa. What part september is best?

the middle to the last is when the elk are bugling good in utah

I like the 2nd to 3rd week of Sept. Too early... they aren't really bugling yet... too late they have herded up their cows and "pushing" them alot. Every year is different, but if you can get those couple of days when they really roam, scream and want to herd up every cow on the planet, you can have some fun! Also, remember the satellite bulls will be curious about all of Sept. both early and late. Look for them no matter what week you pick!

Sept. 18-25th you can't go wrong! Doesn't matter how many hunters have been in the woods before you. Know your stuff, hunt smart, and you'll connect. This is one of the easiest times to nail that herd bull! ElkNut1
