Default Elk hunting day pack

Getting geared up for my guided elk hunt this Oct. in Montana. I feel like a kid in a candy store and Cabela's knows me by first name now. My outfitter sent me a gear list which seems adequate but there was no mention of day packs and contents needed. I could probably get with the outfitter to get a list but I'd rather get suggestions from you guys than a standarized list from the outfitter. What do you guys include in your day pack on an elk trip? All suggestions and comments are welcome and needed. My wife says I don't need the help to spend any more money but what does she know!!
Thanks

Meomako,

I started a thread on this a while back. Check out page two. First pack in elk hunt what to take.

Cabelas knows me pretty good now too.

Where are you hunting in Montana? Who's your Outfitter?

I'm hunting the Absoroka Beartooth Wilderness with Black Otter guide service. I can hardly wait till the end of September. I have all kinds of stuff strewn about planning, packing, etc.

Thanks neweboarhunter
Found the thread. I'm hunting late Oct., the first week of rifle season, in the Judith Fork Basin with Beaver Creek Outfitters. I know what you mean about stuff strewn out, I have an upstairs room almost full now of gear.

Space blanket
Knife
Wind/water proof matches
Bandages
Some small type of fire starter

Here is a list of things you might want to take. Keep it light.
