manitoba banning bear baiting

hey u all

just to let you all know that the Manitoba government is trying to find a way to ban bear baiting. Do to people saying it is a cruel way to hunt them.
I will try and up date this post as much as possiable due to they are not saying to much on it right now.

Maine is facing the same thing this November on a ballet. Our anti bear stance is coming from the Humane Society. Who is backing your intiative. I haven't heard anything about it.
The Humane Society pipes up every spring trying to get the spring season closed but so far the government has always stuck with it.
Of course that CBC program this past winter and the idiot outfitter that let them film don't help matters much. Made all hunters look like blood thirsty morons.

If you can't bait them in the wooded areas how are you supposed to hunt them. This is just stupid. If you take away baiting, you're getting rid of the only management tool available to control numbers.

The referendum question about the bear baiting in Maine is actually to ban Hunting over bait, trapping, and hunting with dogs, what do you think will be their next target?

If they are talking about it be prepared because bad things are coming.

In reply to Rangerlab, its not very easy it all. I've stopped bowhunting bears alltogether in Colorado because we can't bait and your chances of running into one boil down on how long you can sit and watch an area they feed in. We got one month limited bear season in september for a draw tag and you hope you run into a bear big enough to shoot.
