Default 6 pts for Colo Elk - Where to go

I have six points for Colorado elk and am willing to hunt with any weapon - I would really like a chance at a 350 type bull - what unit comes to mind? Thanks.

I think that even in some of the limited draw units a 350 bull is going to be hard to nail down. Probably the units with the best chance at a bull like that would be 10, 2, 201 or one of the other northwest corner trophy units but, that being said, 350 bulls aren't extremely common up there. You should look at 61 and 76 as well.
I know a few folks who shoot some great bulls from time to time but they are coming out of sleeper areas that are still over the counter. Colorado doesn't manage for quality so much as quantity. When you spend those points I would do so with the understanding that you are hunting an area with a much higher than average bull to cow ratio and that you shouldn't run into the crowds that you will in over the counter units. If you shoot something in the 350 range that should be icing on the cake.

I have 7 and have been applying for area 10. 2,10,201 are great units and finding a large bull is very posible, although... you will need 11-12 points for ML and archery, and 13-14 for rifle. Non-resident may be even more points.

This is the draw results for 2003 for elk, listed by hunt code. It will show how many licenses were available and how many points it took to draw.
