Default New Jersey Bears

Only took 6 hours for the first bear to show up after putting out the first bait of the year.....I have at least 3 or 4 different bears. Here is a small sample of pictures

Didn't know you can bait in NJ. I always admired bear. They eat just about anything, from insects to deer, moose, whatever they can get.

Are the anti's still trying to stop the bear hunt in NJ ?

Yes you can bait, but you must be 100 yards from bait, unless you're hunting from a natural blind not man made

Antis are always bitching

I started reading about it. You must be 300 yards from the bait if you are up in a stand.
100 yards if on the ground.

If that is true, that is ridiculous. Seems they want you to injure the bear instead of killing it.

100 yards from bait if you're hunting from a man made blind/treestand, if one is hunting from a natural blind then you can hunt within yards of bait

It's set up this way to work with the antis, but of course it doesn't work

those all look like female bears with cubs, and then two pic's last yr cubs
the one female is a very large female black bear

best of luck to you getting what you want

seems like a very bear rich yr again this yr in my area
so far had 17 different bears in my yard this yr, and come fall and the apples dropping, I expect a few more to show uop

largest is a big male about 600 lbs right now, by fall he should be a bunch bigger I think
I don;'t hunt bears anymore
NOT against those that do at all either
enjoy what you do
they NEED to be hinted IMO
it keeps them wild and honestly safer that way for all, humans and bears!
