Not really far considering it was a rifle shot. 125yds with a 300wsm

I shot at a feral goat at 340yds, right over the back w/ my 30-06.

Right around 300 yards with a .30-06. That was a long time ago.

535 yards on a whitetail buck. I usually perfer to stalk up on deer just for the fun of it. Long shots for me are out of necessity not choice.

Default I specialized in close shots

I made a less than 20 yard shot on the first buck I saw that day. It was on a zero frigid day, with snow, and the first deer I saw, after a long wait, with my flintlock muzzleloader.
I was hidden in a depression under a bush.
Somehow close shots meant something back then. Never did have land to make a 700 yard shot. Saved on expensive scopes.

Use to practice, by shooting ground hogs at fifty yards, using that flintlocker.

60-70 yds for bear, elk, and muley's while still hunting. I considered those long shots.
