Bill Kelly, of CBS World News posted, some of the 12 year old's big game trophy pics, but was preempted by Kelly showing a graphic video --- that has sparked "social media outrage from social media anti-hunting justice warriors;" of a man legally killing a large Alberta black bear with a spear.

Hopefully she has good parents that have taught her that she should ignore online comments from total strangers that mean nothing to her.

From the video comments she and her Dad made I'd say they aren't going to let any of these nut cases that are posting anti sentiments and death threats bother them.

The times are changing. Back in the day...when someone killed a deer it was something to be proud of and the deer was often paraded all around town on the hood of a car. At the time I lived in a residential single family housing development and many of the neighbors were hunters. Years later people living in such a place had to hang the deer in the garage and close the doors. My brother lives in a high end development in northern Virginia and had a lawyer neighbor tell him last year he wanted him to keep the door closed if he got a deer.

If the guy had told me that he'd have been viewing carcasses hanging in the front yard!

My father in law told me about how things used to be where he grew up. He lived in a dog trot house at the base of what we Alabamians would call "the mountains". Every now and then someone would get a deer race going with the pack of dogs. There were very few deer back then in the area. It didn't matter if season was open or not but everyone would gather up and take stands. If the deer got off the mountain alive it make it to the valley there would be folks waiting for it. If the deer got harvested most of the time the guy with the dogs got a shoulder and most of the meat was spread around the community.
