Default Whats a drainage?

I' m from Virginia and planning to hunt elk next year.I do understand exactly what a drainage is. How vast an area does it encompass? Do you consider every ravine and hollow a drainage or are they a combination of these? I use the terms ravine and hollows because Im not sure what yall would call them. Thanks for any info I need all the help I can get! Haredawg

Default RE: Whats a drainage?

A drainage will have ravines, hollows & draws that flow down into the bottom. At the bottom there will be a creek called " smith" or " jones" creek. Everything that flows into this area is part of the smith or jones creek drainage.
