Area 23 Wyoming Antelope
Me and my brother are planning on purchasing left over antelope licenses for Wyoming Area 23. Since it will be our first time hunting the western states we will probably be buying only doe licenses. Due to the small amount of public land in the area we had planned on calling ranchers on the land owner list, however after calling the Sheridan Regional Game and Fish Office I was told that starting this year they will no longer put out a Landowner list. Does anyone have a copy of last years land owner list or know of any landowners in the area who allow hunters? We would be willing to pay a reasonable trespass fee of course. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There are no current lists available and even the ones you can get from the various Chamber of Commerce Offices aren't of much value because of their age. If you can find a ranch, it's possible they will let you shoot does for no fee after the first week, but the problem is finding one and it's so far along in the year now that many won't even answer their phones because they are full up. Good luck, but I would not buy any tags and drive 1500 miles out there from MI until I definitely had a ranch locked in for that unit because the limited public land is pounded the first week to the point where most animals are either dead or go to private land. I've been hunting out there for 20 years and it's getting worse every year.
