Sweet. I always wanted to hunt a good red stag. But I always wanted to do it in the Highland Moors of Scotland. Nice Stag.

Ever seen the scenery in the Scottish Highlands? My take on red deer is that I want to hunt them in one of their native haunts. They are transplants to NZ. I'll admit there are a lot of places to hunt red deer where you can get better trophies than Scotland, but think of the tradition! Stalking the highlands, drinking scotch, warming your hands over a peat fire in a highland estate! That's what I'm talking about.

Actually, my hitch in the Navy did take me to Scotland, not to the grouse moors or the true highlands and I do agree Scotland is scenic. However I cannot imagine any highlands more scenic than in New Zealand. I have no argument to a peat fire and a glass or two of single malt, or a glass of single malt without a peat fire. In fact, I am enjoying a wee dram as I type this.
