Default .243 Bear Down

Here's a bear that measured 5' 10" nose to tail. He has a brown layer of fur under the black guard hairs, found that kind of odd. 30 yrd run after being hit with a .243 Hornady 100 grain.

With a .243 too. Seems we are going smaller on hunting guns over the years. I know of many who used a .243 and they work well it seems.

Very nice bear. My nephew shot one last year that was 5'8" that looked similar to your bear. It made a very nice rug as i'm sure yours would as well.

ihookem, I would say that with the bullet technology of today being what it is with bonded and mono metal bullets this could be a contributing factor.
