Injured 6x6 Bull elk??
I spotted this bull and I snuck up close enough to capture these pictures. After watching it for awhile I noticed he wasint using his back rear leg and was limping. I am not sure if he was injured in a fight (the rut is long over) or if he got caught in a barb wire fence. I tried to walk up to him but he could still move quite a bit faster than me. Should I call DNR or does he just need some time. I am not sure what DNR could do unless they came up and tranquilized him. I will keep an eye on him in the meantime.

You can have my gun when you pry it from my paranoid, mentally disturbed, physically-abusive, cold, dead hand.
It's pretty obvious that he most likly won't make it through the winter way thin, startin to look like a bag of bones!!!! Who knows what or where he got his injury, but it looks like it was fatal!!!! what a shame still a young animal, had a few more years in him, just think what he would look like next year??????
At least its not running around without a jaw due to some jack wagon trying for a headshot!!

I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama. They all hang together; half of them don't work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do
not understand, no explanation is possible.
A golf course is a willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.
Report it and see what they say. They may or may not do anything at least you know you spoke up and told someone with more knowledge about wildlife than most of us. Be good to see what they do.

....at 400 yards!! LMFAO!! Just do what you have done all the other times in your vast experience in the wild. We all know you have seen it all! You should be telling us just how we should handle the same situation, should we ever encounter it!!
I hope the young bull makes it. If it don't, it's food for the other wildlife.

Called the Division years ago on a bull that had a broken back leg they never came. But was advised to not shoot it. I didn't have to someone else did before I ran into it again. If it's not that wounded leave it alone. If it can't move don't say nothing to none and just put it down. Leave the rack right where it lays. You don't want them thinking you poached it. Some small six point isn't worth not going hunting next year.
