Default Alberta Mule doe down.

Their was a nice 4X4 buck with this group, but I had a doe tag. 134 yard shot with .308 norma mag. Deer ran up the side of a hill and dropped. Heart shot, the bullet obviously killed the deer but did not perform like its supposed to.

Congrats on the hunt. Post a little more on what kind of bullet that was. I could see that happening at 334 yards but not 134 yards.

That is strange. At least it killed the deer.

This is the video. Didn't turn out great, its not as clear on youtube as it was while I was editing it. The deer I shoot is on the right side of centre on the screen and runs up the hill side on the right when I shoot. I hit her in the chest right beside the right shoulder and the bullet ended up just in front of the opposite hip. No meat damage at all.

Bullet was a 180 grain Hornady. Nothing against Hornady, I think its just an isolated event. I shot a whitetail buck this year with a 130 gr hornady out of a .270 Win and the bullet expanded perfectly.

I have a .308 Norma Mag...and the fact that you recovered a bullet from a doe at 134 yds astounds me.

I seem to blow through every animal I shoot with the gun...no matter what bullet I use.
