Did three years ago. Wasn't really a good trip due to a lot of factors so I haven't gone back. I don't remember which road we camped off of but it was NW of Pagosa. I can tell you that there a lot of out of state hunters (saw more Texas plates then Colorado) and you pretty much need a horse to get back away from the pressure. That area seemed really popular. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but you asked. Good luck!
