I've held two vermont moose tags (one just last year) and my wife has held one. I DIY for moose so I can't help you with a guide. But you want to apply for E1, E2, and D2. The success rates in the rest of the state is very low. Vermont has less than a 50% success rate overall. But I've managed to take a nice bull and a cow there. I couldn't get my wife one though.

E1 and E2 are the best bets. Lots of paper company open lands and the majority of the moose live there.

It gets even better. I've also held one in New Hampshire. Maine continues to elude me though.

If you are able to move to Wyoming you're far more fortunate than I am. I would gladly have traded my three moose tags for residency in Wyoming.

Wow, thanks for the offer. This may just be the year. You never know.

If I don't draw a moose tag this year my wife and I are going to hunt bear in Maine the last week of baiting. We wants to see the fall colors as to why that week. I know we will still be a little early for the fall colors but, I figured after the dogs stir things up I would have a hard time finding a bear. So I guess one way or another I'll be headed to the New England states.
