What states have you hunted elk in? Did you kill an elk in that state?

CO twice, no kills, rifle
NM, no kill, bow
MT, no kill, bow

Montana resident so every year in Montana. Have drawn tags in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Nevada. All hunts where great. Some hunts are tougher than others.

Hunted New Mexico twice, both with my bow..Killed a cow on my second hunt..

Hunted Colorado twice, once with bow, once with muzzleloader...Missed a bull with my bow..Killed a decent 6x6 with my smokepole..

Wyoming 1 time. Great horseback hunt into the Thorofare. No success but not for lack of animals. Wind blew a couple of chances.
Colorado 3 times. Always fantastic hunts! All DIY wilderness bow hunts. Very close but no luck yet. Will put in for the muzzy tag this year. The kill will mean more to me than on a guided hunt which is required for non-residents in Wyoming in wilderness areas. The mistakes I've made in Colorado are my mistakes and have learned plenty from them.

Colorado the last 4 years in a row DIYS and I have killed 2 bulls and 2 cows.
