Had some when I was kid. I remember it being pretty good. I've heard a few people say its better than elk.

I've had moose, caribou, elk, whtetail and mulie, and antelope, and moose meat is the best of those, hands down.

Moose meat is good stuff. Don't think it is better than elk, but I do think it is better than whitetail.

Personally, it is my favorite game meat there is... unless it is from a rutted up bull... then sometimes it's not that good.

Moose is popular with folks who have tried it... It is quite a mild tasting venison..Very good, actually but I prefer the fuller flavored game meats like caribou and elk...

Like Western Ma Hunter said, the rutting bulls tend to be stronger and not as good, but that can be said for most any game species... I've had rutted up whitetails and mulies and elk that were pretty gamey, and I've never tried rutting caribou, but have heard it is so strong as to be inedible...
