I'd say 1st week is best for sneak stalking. The elk are more at ease and less likely to bolt at first sight.

Last week is probably best for calling.

Between those weeks....The Muzzleloaders have'em all wired up. I would not recommend bowhunting during ML season. The week after they're still jumpy.

So actuall hunt time on the calender doe's not translate into the field.

Wyoming doesn't have a ML season. (Maybe in some areas, but not around here) We consider them just another rifle. 200+ yard shots . . . doesn't matter what kind of smoke the pole is spiitin' out.
