Black bears in the south

Any body hunt black bears in the south? Specifically georgia. Just got on a lease and they have some bears, want to give em a shot but dont know much about em.

Don't know about Georgia bears, but in Arkansas your best shot is acorns in the fall. They will hit baits, but not reliably once the acorns start falling. So mid-Sept. to early Oct. for baits, then it's anybody's guess. Just my experience.

i hunt them with my hounds here in South Carolina. we killed a nice 400lb boar this season.
