Default Idaho Moose

Went for a hike yesterday and stumbled across this guy. Just curious as to how he would rate.

He looks to be a decent size from the pics. He would score pretty high in this state as he has long tines although he doesn't show much in the line of paddles. I also did not notice any brow tines at all either. But then again the moose we have here verses your type of moose are different anyways.. Also they have been getting hunted here for quite sometime and most will run when seeing anyone.

Respectable bull... great tine length... narrow paddles... nice for a Shiras... decent for Canadian.

What a neat experience and a great set of pictures (including 'the rest'). I always love encountering moose and having them pose, if they will.

Being an Idaho moose, I guess he's a Shiras. This one looks adequate; respectable but not overly large. Remember that tine length doesn't count when scoring moose - just the number of tines. What also counts is paddle width and these ones are fairly narrow.

Thanks for letting us enjoy this.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm a midwest whitetail hunter so I have no experience with moose.
