Default Yukon moose hunt...last minute advice

Gentlemen,

I'm off this friday for a two week hunt in the Yukon with my bow. First and primary order of business is moose. Any last minute advice is appreciated. It's suppose to be wet and chilly. Last question is: have any of you used Nikwax to waterproof soft shell clothing such as sitka gear? And if so, does it leave any odor detectable by the game. Thanks.

Kelly

My only advice would be to get another savings account started ASAP, for the next trip, because once you go once, you'll HAVE to go again!
Have fun. Moose meat is THE best.

I wish you good luck on your hunt! Here they recommend a small paddle to beat the bushes with when you can here the moose but they won't come out. Try and keep the wind to your advantage as well because like deer they can smell and here well.. I am not sure about the Nikwax. I wish, I could help you out there. Hopefully it will be just chilly and not very wet out. Again good luck on your hunt!

Take more than one knife and a sharpener in your pack. You'll need em to skin such a huge animal.

Good luck!
