Elk Hunting near Pagosa Springs, CO 2009

Hi all elk hunters. I'll be hunting near Pagosa Springs, CO in GMU 78 this year.
Is anyone familiar with the area nearSaddle Mountain? I have huntedabove Poison Parkto the westbelow Saddle Mountain. Where does the trail from Poison Park end?
Also Is the trail to Poison Park on any map?
How does this area compare to the hunting around Sheep Park if anyone knows.
I'm planning to return this year for my second elk hunt.
Also I'll be on foot. Hike in and stay a few days.
I'm hoping to draw a license for the first muzzle loader season in September but if not I'll go for the first rifle season Oct. 10th.

Have not hunted the area, but have been down there a lot hiking, camping and fishing. There are elk there. Work hard and enjoy the area.

I hope you have preference points if you want to hunt bull elk, probably take 3 for ML and if you don't get that, the first rifle season is also a draw and second choice won't get it.
