Idaho 2009 Big Game Regs

Anybody have any idea when the Idaho 2009 big game regs will be released? Waiting to see if there are any changes from last year for the moose hunting seasons.

big game regs probably wont be out till april but moose season are in a separate reg book and should be out soon because the application period starts april 1.

what are you wondering about ID moose?

looks like moose apps will have to be postmarked by april 30th.

So you'll have a good lil while to figure it all out...

I heard that they might change the reg that only allows you to hunt moose for a 2 week period back to the 3 month season like it was previous. Anybody heard anything about this?

Haven't heard anything, I get the huntin fool, that issue doesn't come out until their march/may issue, I'm sure it'll be in there, but I'm sure by then ID will release their regs.

ya a 2wk season vs a 3month would be a major change.

I know states in general have been splitting seasons it seems lately, so perhaps they'll issue more tags and split seasons? but haven't heard anything.

Regardless I don't think I'd ever be able to hunt more than 2weeks at a time...but would be nice to have a more liberal time to pick which 2 weeks.

I do want to take one with a bow in ID, and did read that plan on taking alot of time to do that! at least at a mature bull.

Keep us posted....will do the same if I hear anything.

i havent heard anything about moose yet. i know they are waiting to get approval to up tag fees. they way i read the report they may change the way general tags for deer and elk work but i havent heard any changes to moose or anything other than the price. i think the commission meeting is in a couple of weeks and i think thats when they vote on the reg changes. they usually post a proposed changes page on the website before they have the meeting.

Their website is your best bet until printed regs are out, even then the website is more up to date. You can also email them questions and they are fairly good at getting back to you. http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/

I have been on the website and also called and spoke to a lady and she wasn't sure about anything but thought the regs would be out sometime this month. I was just wondering if you locals knew anything. Thanks
