Colorado Regs Question
Well its finally on for this year! After having 3 children in 2 years (wife being pregnant in the fall/winter both years) I'm thinking I will have the time & $$$ to finally trek into the mountains this year in pursuit of elk.
This may be a dumb question but I can't see anything specific in regards to it in the Colorado Big Game Regs. My question is this.....when buying an OTC tag for elk, we'll say for archery season, is that tag good statewide in any OTC unit or is it specific to a GMU you specify when buying a tag?
Question #2....I'm assuming you have to submit an application for EACH big game species you intend to hunt even if you are merely putting in for a preference point, or do you put ALL of your draw requests onto 1 application?
Just trying to get a couple simple technicalities clarified. Thanks for the input!

RE: Colorado Regs Question
I suggest that when you are ready to apply that you do it online. Written apps have always been a problem and the online system is so much better. It won't let you make mistakes without you correcting them to continue. Application deadline for the big three is April 1st.

RE: Colorado Regs Question
If you hunt deer you have to put in for a draw tag since all of them are draw and have been for a few years now[archery used to be OTC]. If you are going to do an OTC tag for elk you do not have to put in for the draw. You can purchase it on line or pruchase it when you get here in CO [there are some time lines for rifle season about OTC tags purchase at stores here, but archery you can purchase at any time the season is on.]
I do hunt archery OTC tags when I don't draw my favorite unit. I prefer the draw unit over the OTC tag.
