Default Colorado Drop Camps Unit 12,24,25,26

Looking for a good elk drop camp in NW colorado (12,24,25,26)
Read a few reccomendations from last year, Any updates on Winterhawk. We are leaning towards them. If anyone has any new reccomendations for the 1st gun season let me know! Not picky on Bull size Just want to see alot of game. Been to the Jensen area before, lots of Hunters. looking to get away from that.

Thanks

I had a good trip with Sablemountain Outfitters.

I hunted from the Johnson Lake camp and we scored on 3 of 4 hunters.

You've likely read my recommendations on Winterhawk. I hunted with them in 06' & 08', both fully guided archery hunts. But we spent some time at a couple their drop camps. If I go back in 2010 it'll probably be a drop camp hunt. Feel free to e-mail me w/any questions. You can also contact Larry, and he will speak to you, and they'll send you their info & a dvd.

I camped/hunted in unit 24 for quite a few years, there were a ton of hunters there even tho it is a wilderness area. This was before 1st rifle season became a draw. Outfitters had camps at every good spot, having said that it was the most fun hunting I ever had. We used my horses to pack gear and we walked in.
There are outfitters that will pack your gear in there.
