got my first elk!!!!!!!!!!

i went to easton view outfitters and i got my first elk!!!! we got up into the blind and about 30 minutes later a 6x6 comes out and starts fighting with a 5x5 that came out right before him. the 6x6 stepped back and BOOM!!! he stumbled and then i hit him again and he went down!!!!! i took him at about 60 yards. here he is!!!

Nice bull. Now you'll have to get out west and try a public ground fair chase hunt and see what elk hunting is all about.

i shot him with a .270 browning X-bolt stainless stalker. i probly only had to shoot him once but i shot him twice to bring him down faster.

Where did you hunt elk in a stand? Your story seems too easy for me. But nice bull, especially your first. You will never forget it unless someone else packed him out for you. Pack one out and the respect for an elk becomes one of the best hunting experiences ever.
