Default Great Grandpa's Bull Elk

Just thought I'd share a picture of my wife's great-grandpa with the bull elk he just shot in central Montana. He's 93-years-old and still gets out and hunts every year. He and his 89-year-old wife eachalso managed toshoot pronghorn antelope on their ranch last month. The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks sent their videographer out to film the two of themfor a DVD they're producing about the hunting traditions in Montana. Ol' Roy even made it up here to Alaska in 2006 and shot his first caribou at the age of 91.

That is awesome! My grandpa is 73 now. And for several years he sacrificed getting deer so that I could, but he starter getting them two years ago, and that was probably the most exciting hunt of my life! We were putting on a drive, and I jumped up a nice 8 point. I pulled up to shoot but saw it was headed right towards where he was on post so I let it go. about thirty seconds later I hear one shot from the old .30-30! I was so excited!
