Hunting in Canada
Looking for travel advice for my hunting trip next year in Canada. I have the gun forms for Canada and will get my guns registered here with Customs before I leave so I can get my rifle back into the country.
I'm looking for any advice on traveling with my rifle. I'm flying United to Boston, then the rest of the trip will be on Air Canada to Halifax and then Gander. The thing that scares me is it's a custom rifle that I don't want the airlines to break. I guess that's really out of my hands but any advice from people who have gone would be greatly appreciated.
I do have a good Alumina Weld gun case that appears to be pretty well built but have been thinking of possibly getting a Pelican case for added insurance.
Has anyone purchased seperate insurance in case the airlines loose or destroy my rifle in transit? Hell, I'm probably going to pay close to $300 in excess baggage fees for it but it still scares me they will screw it up.
Thanks in advance for the info.
