Mass plays a BIG part in a B&C on a pronghorn. You want at least 7" bases and to hold that mass to the base of the cutter (prong), of course you want nice cutters 7"+ and then decent mass above the cutter as well. A 13.5" buck with great mass can make the recordbook alot easier than a 17" buck with limited mass because the circumference is measured 4 times on each side plus the cutter. Width doesn't enter the score calculation at all.
A lot of folks just talk about how long the horn is, but mass really comes into play more on making the book IMO.
