Default When do elk shed?

I live in North Dakota and the whitetails really seem to start shedding their antlersin Febuary and by the end of Marchvery fewhave their antlers. I have heardelk shed later than whitetails. Is this true? If so how much later? Thanks fellas for any replies.

The last of Feb. into March, but we have to wait for the snow to melt to find them.

I have seen bulls sporting headgear as late as the middle of april while turkey hunting. A few years back I had a herd of 6 bulls pass by on april 15th. 2 were missing one horn and the rest were still on. Two weeks after that I saw the same herd with all of the horns off.

Yes I to have seen bulls in April, but it seems that the elevation plays a big role. I know that the bulls up behind the house (7700-8500ft) loose there antlerslatter then in some of the other areas which are lower in elevation. The longer it stays cold the longer the bulls have there antlers.
