Had about a four hundred pounder in my yard again today. He's hitting all the garbage cans in the neighborhood. Here in N.W. Florida we are absolutely infested with bears and the Fish and Wildlife Commission won't give us a season. Instead, they pay trappers to come catch 'em, tag 'em, turn 'em loose and catch 'em again. Instead of it costing us money to pay these trappers, they could be making money by selling tags and bring the population back to carrying capacity all at the same time. Folks don't think of Florida as a bear state, but believe me we've got 'em. I would dare say we've got as many bears in my area as any place on the planet. Maybe if we could get some help from some of you guys in other areas, FWC would open it up. Anyone who would e-mail the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and tell them you'd be interested in hunting bears in Florida would be greatly appreciated. We have some real old bruisers too. I've seen a couple I'm sure were around 500 lbs. Thanks and God Bless
