I watched it and thought it was pretty exciting.

I've always heard that a bull moose is one of the most dangerous animals to approach. I've heard stories of them bashing up cars pretty good that they felt were invading their territory.

That's good stuff. I just read about that hunt in Bowhunter Magazine...but didn't think to check it out on youtube. I've seen some big bulls in northern Maine and a few decent shiras moose in Montana while bowhunting elk. One came so close out there, that I reached down and unsnapped the holster on my 357 mag. It was during the rut and I wasn't sure what his intentions were....luckily for me, after standing there eyeballing me from about 10 yds away, he turned and ambled off. You don't fully appreciate their size until you see them in a situation like that.

LOL, several years ago, on an elk trip, just north of Gore Pass in Colorado, I had new guy hunting.Several days before season openened, we were setting in camp having a ham sandwich and drinking a 'Moosehead' Guy sceams "cow elk...cow elk"..pointing in brush behind me.
I bailed around some pines n aspens....no elk, I was face to face with a medium size bull Moose......having only the 12 oz wepon in my hand, I slowly backed into the trees and backed away....moose ambled off...
could have been a LOT worse!

Man, that is up close and personal!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw this exact hunt no more than a few nighs ago on The Outdoor Channel. The bull was dead just on the other side of the trees they panned past.

A bull moose hunt is a MUST on my list. Been to Alaska once on a DIY hunt with a buddy of mine who lives there. Let a small one pass and saw a real stud, but couldn't close the deal,,,,

Thanks for sharing...

They had the episode of thathunt on the Outdoor Channel this weekend. They had more than one moose at close range. I bet he had to clean out his shorts before he went to recover the moose. [8D][:-]
