Default Bear Hunting Advice

I am going bear hinting for the first time this coming year in upstate NY. I have no clue what to wear, orange/camo, or what I am looking for when hunting bear. I am signed up with a guide service but it sounds like all they are going to do is put me in a tree stand (first time in a stand) and pick me up when I kill a bear. They are not baited trails so....... Any advise you can give me on what and or what not to do for my 4 day hunt would be great. Thanks for your time.

Default RE: Bear Hunting Advice

Check your local laws on what to wear. If legal wear full camo. Im not sure about your hunt butIf you cant bait Id imagine a guide would take you spot & stalk hunting or if from a stand it would be over a natural food source. Contact your guide and find out what to bring and what you should be expecting.
