Default montana hunt is on

Finally drew a nores. tag for montana aftertring for 3 years. I can't wait to be chasing bulls with a bow again after 8 or 9 yearsoff, chasing other critters. Now a question for all ,I plan on hunting at least 14 days . I'm looking toward the second half of sept. I value most of your opinions ,please share yours. What two weeks would be best?

I must tell you I went first week last year only because it was they only week Rob and my schedule agreed. It was hotter then heck but we still managed to callin some bulls. I had a 290 class bull at 8 yards with ONLY a head shot. He came in screaming his head OFF! I had to pass on him and a few other raghorns. I had a BLAST up there!!

You have to enter your ALS # to find out. If you don't know your ALS # it is your birthday then a number assigned for the last part. I didn't have an ALS # assigned so I just put my birthday in and kept trying numbers until I found myself!

I got the big game combo mainly because it has such a better chance of being drawn it was worth the $300 extra over the deer only license.

I'm going to apply for a special elk district license in the Missouri breaks and if I get it then I will go elk hunting also, but I don't think I will even go elk hunting otherwise. Even when I was a Montana resident we didn't have much luck hunting elk in the western part of the state, of course we didn't really know what we were doing either. Pretty much just blindly walking around in the woods hoping to stumble on some elk!

npaden, there are alot of units that you could put in for and have better chances at being drawn than the breaks and still have a good chance at a good bull. My dad drew as well and we are pretty pumped.
