Successful late elk hunt last weekend EDIT - better photos
Here come some photos from my sons' Gardiner, MT hunt last weekend. They were lucky enough to draw two of 100 tags given to humans this year. The other 1800 tags are going to the wolves.
For those not from here this is a migration hunt for elk going north out of Yellowstone. We got on the herd about five miles up.
I GPS'd it and located the killsin the pink ellipses on Google Earth - neat stuff!
Some very difficult terrain and deep snow- don't know how we would git 'er done without horses. Bothcows fell to one .270 shot each.
