first time bear hunter in NC.. got some Qs
me and a friend plan on going on a bear hunt the week after chrismas in the NC mountians. we have never hunted bear before so this is new to us. weve been deer huntin for a long time and want to trysumthing new.where shouldwe start? i dont want to pay for a guide cause were still in school and dont have the money to spend on that. do you hunt bears like deer..in a stand on a trail? what kinda gun should we bring? i was thinkin either 270 or 12ga slug. we will be coming from the raleigh area. i just need a town to make hotel reservations, with gameland near by.
