Default Elk Hunt

Hey Everyone!

I'm looking for input on the best place to do a guided elk hunt. There would be a total of 4 guys and we're interested in a guided hunt in Montana, Colorado, or Wyoming.
Anyone that had a great experience or is a great guide that doesn't break the bank contact me.

I just got back from a archery Elk hunt with Winterhawk Outfitters, CO. I first discovered them via the Outdoor Ch. They've had filmed hunts from shows like The Wild Outdoors, The Hunters Journal, and Antler King. They also came highly recommended from a state wide archery club called NY Bowhunters where I live. I also met their head guide Russ at a NY Sportshow, and he was very helpful. I totally enjoyed myself with them. They treated me like family, and everyone worked hard to make it as enjoyable as possible. My guide was super great. He worked especially hard to get me a Bull. The owners Larry, and Laura Amos were first class professionals on running their guide service, and been running Winterhawk for 18yrs now. Its not easy hunting you have to be in shape. Its a western style mountain hunt, where you'll do alot of horseback riding. I definitly plan on going back again in the future.

At this late date I would rule out Wyoming as non resident elk are drawing only, back in January. Don'y know Montana regs.
Best bet will be a Colorado hunt because they offer non resident tags over the counter.
As a former guide, I highly recommend you bring enough gun, and practice 200+ yard shots. Know your balistics.

Good luck, and bring one down.
