Default I'm Amazed...

To see that a post I put on here got dumped. I assume becausein the course of describing my elk hunt this yearI was less than complimentary of outfitters coming in and turning a formerly pristine elk hunt into arelative dud in the matter of two weeks. I'm sorry, but I will call them like I see them.

One of the charms, I thought, of this website was that it serves as a departure from our normal channels for information as hunters, which are thehunting rags. These rags are so beholden to their advertisers that every bow gets rated at least 4 stars out of five, and any newcall or scent product, no matter how kooky, gets a rash of articles basically saying that without the new gizmoyou probably won't get youranimal thisseason. On this site, I would hope that we could havefree rein to express ALL our opinions so long as they are not profane or totally over the top.

If this is not true, I would love to see the rules explicitly state that you may not criticize outfitters because they help pay our bills. If that's the way we are going, then how long before we dump any posts that say Matthews bows suck, or Hoochie Mama cow calls suck, or whatever. We can just convert this site into a forum where we all play parrots chirping the hunting party line, just like the hunting magazines.

(If my post got dumped for some other reason that I don't know about, then I apologize in advance forgoing off on this tangent.)

I second that! If you post something about an outfitter ruining a spot then it should be listed and kept on the forums so other hunters can avoid that area.

I second that too,Dirt2. Maybe, you should try to post your old message that got deletedhere again.
Then, you can PM us when you do, and if the thread isn't there, than we'll know that Hunting.Net is doing something goofy.

Keep in mind that there was a change in the system recently and a whole bunch of posts got lost in transition. It may not have been intentional.

I remember a post on which a guy was criticizing a moose outfitter and mentioning the name of it even, but they didn't take that one off.
I believe that was the only critisizm thread I saw on this site before they lost a bunch of the posts.
Then again, I think a lot of people's attention was fixed on that troll's posts about shooting an elk with a .223 while under theinfluence of alchoholand giving up the trackingso he could catch a football game.

It was just because they changed servers, many posts were lost.
