Default So.....

Is the guilty party that lost our datastill employed with your firm?

CIS 101.... back up your data and especially when you are converting/transferring software or hardware --- that is standard operating procedure from the LAST century.

If you want folks to write stuff here, then bestnot lose it.

BTW, your site don't seem faster to me.

I'm with ELKampMaster on this one. The idea of revamping a database system with a week+ old backup . . . doesn't make sense. In most computer environments backups are done daily -- typically in the wee hours of the morning. Automated systems are typically deployed that automatically do the system backup while human beings sleep. Someone just needs to feed the system a steady diet of tapes and store the backups. This was the way things were done in 1992 when I was briefly involved in that sort of systems administration.

So . . . it isn't a matter of back biting, spiteful lurking, waitingfor some weakness to pounce on. It is SOP in the computer industry. My wife's rinky-dink building contractor office -- with about 15 employees -- does nightly back-ups. Her previous rinky-dink building contractor office did nightly back-ups. The lumber yard that she worked at 10 years ago, before working for said two rinky-dink building contractor offices, did nightly back-ups. Who the hell does not do nightly back-ups of their computer systems data? People who don't care if they lose their data, 'cause it sur 'nuff gonna' happen if you don't do nightly back-ups, and sooner than you think . . .

I think it's faster, but I wish they did a better job and improved the
Big Game database.
I still can't wait for them to start up the Mule Deer database.
Or, they should just remove it and admit that they haven't the capability to start it up. I guess it's just their pride.

It amazes me how some people think they are better than everyone else.

The posted message board isn't important enough for them to take the time to back it up daily. It should have been done before the server switch. But it wasn't, maybe we should just be glad that the site is running better and faster.

Thank you HNI guys!
