Can't you get pregnant or something? They have to give you time off for that!

My opinion is if you have the necessary leave accumulated you ought to be able to take the time off. Of course, you should have requested this time off well in advance, which you did, right? If you have a good job, almost certainly they will want you to keep working for the company, so they will forgive you if you take the time off. If your job is a poor job then maybe they will be unforgiving . . . but poor jobs are not difficult to come by for most people, just go find another job. Who knows, maybe the next job will be better than this poor job?

Fact of the matter is if they have a policy about requesting the time off, then you are out of luck, and calling in sick after having the time off turned down would be a bad idea as well.

Find out what the deal is, maybe work something out, maybe not a long stretch off, but thur/Fri or Mon/tue to give you a super long weekend.

You already have off the best days of the week for hunting, as I remeber.
If you rmother in law dies suddenly, you will have at least 2 days to mourn.

Thanks guys! I did ask for the time last November. I would take it sick but I just had surgery and used most of my time. That leave me with my normal days off, Tues - Thurs.
