Default shooting sticks the cheap way

Ok guys, i have a pair of shooting sticks that were free for me or if you need to buy the materials they cost only a few bucks.

All you need is

2aluminum arrows
a small hammer
a small nail
duct or electrical tape

get 2 aluminum arrows the length of the shooting sticks you want.

Strip off the feathers and remove the plastic nocks. The pointed area the nock attaches to will be the bottom of the sticks.

Make a mark 2 - 4" down from the top (insertend) of the arrow.
using a hammer and a small diameter nail that is about 1/2" to 3/4" longer than the diameter of the 2 arrows put together, punch a hole on the mark through one arrow. Dont pound too hard or the arrow will bend.

remove the nail and repeat that step on arrow #2.

Both arrows should nowhave holes all the way through them. insert the nail through both holes to serve as the pivot point.

with the extra length of the nail, just bend it over so the nail wont come out.

now the arrows should pivot freely and it is looking like a bipod.

Wrap duck tape or black electrical tape to cover the few inches of arrow above where the nail is so it kind of grips your gun for a nice steady rest.

Those are some simple plans I came up with to make a set of shooting sticks that are durable, very light, and just as effective as factory models and they cost a fraction of the price. Hope these instructions made sense. if you have any questions feel free to ask, i would beglad to help

Heck, I made two pairs for about .50 cents. Just went out into my yard, Found a good tree with 4, long, sturdy, 1" tapering to about .5" in diameter branches (probably 3.5 feet long). Then I took some nylon twine and lashed them together about 4 inches from the smaller ends! You can make them any height you want, and if they get broken or I forget them somewhere, no big deal, I will just make some new ones! They make for an excellent walking stick as well.

My buddy and me use old cross country ski poles taped to together and they work as good shooting sticks and walking stick.
