Elk in Santa, ID area?

I'll be heading to hunt elk Sept 17-24 somewhere between St. Maries and Clarkia. My partner has scouted a few spots from Santa to Clarkia that look promising. If anyone could provide some info about herd density, hunting pressure, info about the area,etc., I'd appreciate it. PM me if you'd prefer.

Never hunted the area but I hear the herd is pretty dense. I've heard too many horror stories about the hunting pressure.
