Elk hunting

Day pack or fanny pack?I usually use a day pack but switched to a back Quiver for my arrows.So I'm going to try a fanny pack.Any Ideas on best kind or sizes for archery elk?

You might take a look at BassPro's lineup, I picked a new one up for myself for this fall that includes a hydration bladder and shoulder straps and has buddy lock accessory incorporated on the belt. Looks like it will work great. Have always used a fanny back for elk hunting, always out of the way and doesn't weigh you down.

Mainbeam Horn Hunter xl thats going to be my day pack this year.When I get my elk down I wanna be able to take a load of meat out with me on the first trip.

Have you looked @ a company called "Nimrod"? I was seeing their products a lot @ sportsman shows a over the past few years & decided to try one of their day packs. They seem to have something for everyone.

I just carry all of my backup stuff (release, rope, etc) in my pockets. I don't carry food out because I just don't get hungry when chasing elk. I carry a Camelback (sp?) under my jacket because I am a camo freak who thinks it actually makes a difference. I cut way back on what I used to carry whenI used a pack, and camp isn't ever morethan a few miles off, so the most I would have to go back for wouldbe a camera, which means I wouldn't be in a hurry anyway. Let's hope that is the case is 40 days
