Default Where to hunt elk

Hello, I'm new to this site and live in New York State. I was wondering where the closes place I could go to hunt elk would be.

Well, there are elk herd in Kentucky, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, but VERY limited tags there, although apparently Kentucky is quickly becoming a great elk state. I can't wait until they increase the hunts in KY because I live in Ohio. That would sure cut down on my normal 24 hour drive to elk camp.

PA if you can draw. PA is really close to NY. At least it was during my 40 yrs of living in PA elk country.

CO is great if you draw. If you dont, just get an unlimited OTC bull tags. If you are a stick thrower we have OTC cow tags for many units.

actually the KY elk herd has redoubled in size and there may be more tags available...

If you have money, New Mexico and Arizona have BIG BUllS! Colorado has the most and Idaho is awesome. For the money it is hard to beat Colorado.
