Default Which scope?

Just bought a new S&W 460. I plan on taking all of my big game this year with it. What would be the best scope to use? Elk at 20 yards, or antelope at 200 yards. What would be a good all purpose scope? Fixed? Variable? I'm leaning towards Nikon or Burris. Would not own a Bushnell! Any good advice would be helpful!

Thanks Bryan!

I like the Kahles 2-7X36 I have one on both my 260rem and 375H&H and find them hard to beat.

Guns and Ammo mag did a test with a .500 S&W and they installed a 3200 Elite 2-6 on it and it handled the recoil awesome. I have the same exact setupand I have shot 500 rounds through my gun and my scope has held zero perfect. Bushnell Elites are great scopes and a lifetime warranty and my .500 S&W shoots tight groups at 100 yds with it. If it can handle my recoil it can handle a little .460.

I've had bad luck with Bushnell in the past, with scopes and binoculars, I just can't make myself go there again. I did alot of looking today and I think I'm going with the Burris 2-7X32 or the 3-12x32. I'm going to take my "little" 460 out and shoot it for the first time on tuesday with no scope at all to get a feel for it. Anyone hunt with one without a scope?

I have 2 types of scopes on my rifles, Burris, and Elites, love em both, but I'd give the upper hand to the Elite (no firefly reticle though).

Oops! The handgun thing went right over my head, gotta learn to slow down and read more carefully! But if you want an opinion on rifle scopes, see above!

We are talking handgun scopes right????? a 3-12 x32 on a pistol ha,ha,ha..... sorry I'm just picturing it.
I would go with what handloader said or a 2-7 Vari. thats all you need for the 460,and go Burris.
