$60,000 for a Lion hunt!

Just read about hunting African lions in the NRA journal. Was astounded at what it costs today, in the neighborhood of $60,000!!! Never really had the desire to kill a lion, and I really don't now. Talk about hunting only for the rich!

Yea, the last I checked it cost a minimum of $20 grand to hunt a brown bear in Alaska. Big Business and Big $$$.

A good Brown bear hunt in Alaska will run you from $9,000 to $11,000 +lic. and I can guarantee you that you can kill a lion for less than $60,000. A totally free ranging wildlion hunt in Tanzania would be expensive though. Our Tanzania outfitter classifies a lion hunt as a 21 day safari hunt which isn't cheap by any means. The trophy fee is only about $2500 though. Lic. would be around $700 and them the other African government fees they tack on to hunt in Africa. The lions he kills are exceptional though.
