Default Bear Hunts

Which states have the best bear hunting (Black Bear) and are the easiest to get tags for? I would like to hunt in the spring but fall would be ok too. Not looking to run hounds. Just Bow hunt over bait or spot and stalk. I am trying to keep my $$ in the U.S. and am on a budget, otherwise I would go to Canada and consider it in the future but for now would like to stay in the U.S.

All of my bear hunts have been in Canada or MN. Three times Canada two times MN. Where do you live? That makes a big difference IMO as I want my wheels with me.

I'm not sure what the price is for hunts in the States but our hunts our 2000-2500, and this includes excellent walleye and pike fishing.

I live in IL so Sask. is a LONG drive so I would have to fly. Add that to a 2000-2500 dollar hunt and you're looking at someting closer to 3000. Northernsask, do you have a website? Not against Canada (Probably best for bears) but like I said earlier I'm on a tight budget right now.

I would check out Maine, good bear population, and over the counter tags. I have seen hunts from $700-$2500, you can probaly find a real solid hunt in the middle foraround $1500 or so.

You can do a great self outfitted spot and stalk hunt here in AK for way less than $1000. PM me and I'll point you in the right direction if you're interested.
