Default Black Bear Swimming Across Ontario Lake

Any ideas on how big the bear is in the images below? We ran across this guy fishing in June on Apps Lake in Ontario. We got within 6 feet before he got to shore.

Never done any black bear hunting but in approximating black bear size, you are supposed to look at the ears and see how much they stand above the head . The closer they are to the head, the bigger the bear. IMO, this bear would go about 200 lbs. Any bear hunters willing to guess?

If I was in a boat and saw that thing swimming, It'd be the biggest freakin' bear I ever saw.
Then I'd throw a huge spinner bait at it! (lol)

I would say that the guess is pretty close. I don't think that it would go much more if at all.

Great pics!
It's hard to tell how big it is.... can't see his body much. He does look to be pretty stout though.
