Boone and Crockett scoring for Black Bear

Does anyone know the rules for getting a Black Bear skull scored? Is there a "dry out" period of time like antlers? I went to the B & C Website without much help.

Yes the 60 day "dry out" period applies to skulls for B&C as well as antlers.

Just like any B&C scored animal it must be scored by an official B&C measurer, photo/forms, fees, etcmust accompany the official score card upon submitting your trophy to B&C. A list of requirements,scorer's,etc can be found on the B&C website.

Ok I seeit on the site now, thank you for your help. I wonder how many Black Bears get scored that are taken from outfitters in Canada?

I don't know that answer but I would think Canada places a number of B&C enteries in the books for Blackieseach year. I would guess the annual harvest by non-residents wouldbe higherfor Black Bears than that of canadian residents. At least in the western provinces (Man., Sask, Alberta and most likely BC as well). So would stand to reason that many of the BC bear skulls would comeby way ofguided hunts.
